To begin, I must extend my sincerest apology to all those anticipating artists who await the announcement of the winner of the PKE Surge logo contest. When we first set out with the contest we had anticipated having some new content to run alongside of the winning logo; which still remains to be announced. Then after getting so many wonderful entries we found ourselves in a dead lock over which new logo to choose. I speak honestly when I say that this community has a surplus of great and talented artists who are constantly offering their talents to the community, and that there is no end to the respect for those who put their pen to the paper and then to the Internet for thousands of people to judge. Luckily for this contest only a handful of people had to judge your work, and boy was it hard! If memory serves the PKE Surge Staff spent hours debating on all the pros and cons of each individual entry for this years logo contest, and after all this time we have a winner.
Ladies and Ghostheads, on the behalf of PKE Surge 2010 presented by GBFans.com I present to you the 2010 No-Ghost logo that will be representing us at Dragon Con in Atlanta Georgia and winner of the contest, lordgilpin!
He will be rewarded with a free PKE Surge 2010 Prize Package which will include the official 2010 t-shirt with his logo screen printed on the front! Along with this his logo will be featured on the brand new PKE Surge website
On behalf of the PKE Surge staff I want to thank all of the contest entries, I hope that you will re-enter next year when we pick a new logo and a new artist to represent us at PKE Surge 2011.
With PKE Surge 2009 still fresh in our memories it’s time to start planning for PKE Surge 2010. With that it’s also time for a new PKE Surge logo! This is an opportunity for you aspiring artists out there to break out your pens and pencils and start drawing up what your logo for PKE Surge 2010 would be! Your logo could go down in Ghostbusters history as it will be used on all PKE Surge 2010 merchandise including t-shirts, buttons, flyers and more! But if the fame of your logo isn’t enough to get you drawing then how about this? You could win a PKE Surge 2010 t-shirt with your logo on it, at no cost to you! We’ll also throw in any bit of merchandise with your logo on it as well, so you can have the entire PKE Surge merchandise package all for just drawing the new logo!
The deadline is October 31st so make sure you get cracking now! Details and contest rules can be found in the official logo contest thread!

It has taken me a few days to get settled back after the exciting time that PKE Surge 2009 was at Dragon*Con 2009 in Atlanta. The last two days were slow, but still a lot of fun coming off of the energy surge that was generated on Saturday after the Parade and Dinner Night. We were pretty sucessful in unloading much of the GBFans, ProtonCharging, and GBTV Swag that we had; but I still have some Lanyards and Wristbands left.
The event was a huge sucess as we had more than 50 Ghostbusters, and hundreds of others stop by our tables to talk to us and get information on how to make their own Proton Packs. We have already started to plan PKE Surge 2010, and have setup a discussion forum here. Feel free to let us know if you plan to attend, and start some topics on what you would like to see, or how you can contribute in the future!
I would like to thank everyone that made PKE Surge 2009 a great sucess. Everyone that attended most importantly, as we could not have done this without you. Specifically, I would like to thank the PKE Surge Crew for their hard work and the folks at GBTV and the US Colonial Marines for their support at the GBFans Table. Also to those who volunteered and worked hard to keep up the GBFans Table (which allowed me to go check out the convention!). Special Thanks to Chase of the Central GA Ghostbusters for pulling through at the last minute and bringing their Ecto to the parade. Lastly to Chris at ProtonCharging for providing some cool swag and all the other Ghostbusters Sites for helping promote the convention!
Today was by far the busiest day of PKE Surge 2009 at DragonCon. We started off the morning with an Epic Ghostbusters Parade that had nearly 50 Ghostbusters suited up. Thankfully the guys from Georgia brought up their Dodge Magnum Ecto-1 at the last minute to fill in for the Ecto-2k, and it completely made the parade a success. The crowds were going wild for the Ghostbusters as we were considered the “crowd favorites” by several media outlets. There were tens of thousands of people in the crowd and every single one of them had a camera and was snapping shots of us. Look for us on Flickr and Facebook and post links to the pictures in this thread.
After the parade we hung out at the Ghostbusters Fans, and GBTV tables and had a load of fun. We were doing interviews for segments on GBTV and Billy Mays himself appeared to sell some Ghostbusters Fans Wristbands and sign autographs.
We capped off the night with PKE Surge’s Night on the Town at a local Atlanta restaurant and met some colorful characters. Everyone had a great time as we announced the winners of the Crunch Awards, and selectedwinners in the raffle for Ghostbusters Parts, Shirts and Supporting Memberships.
I will leave you with a video I shot from the parade. It is a little shakey and a little low quality. If you find videos / pictures from the parade on YouTube, please post them in this thread.

The first day of DragonCon 2009 is now past us and so far everything is getting off to a great start. We have a great table located on the lower level of the Hyatt Hotel (right outside of the Artist Galleries) and most of the merchandise is going fast! It has been really nice to meet all the people who have stopped by and hung out later and grabbed dinner. So far we have seen perhaps 20 Ghostbusters and tomorrow we expect to see more. We will also be having the parade tomorrow at 10AM and a whopping 50 Ghostbusters Fans are scheduled to be with us! (With many more watching on).
Also scheduled for tomorrow night is the Night on the Town. Look for us at the Varsity around 8PM!
I have a limited number of photos from Friday on my Flickr account. I forgot my memory card today so there are only a few. I will add more as I get them, and a DragonCon Gallery will appear on GBFans next week. See the photos here.
Look for the Ghostbusters Fans, GBTV and PKE Surge table in the Ballroom level of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Pick up some PKE Surge exclusive merchandise and hang out with some great fans.
With DragonCon’s PKE Surge 2009 only a week away its hard to believe that people are getting ready to leave now for the trip, but that is just what a few Ghostbusters Fans are doing. Driving a grueling 4200 miles and stopping at 9 Major US Cities over the course of 7 days are the Denver Ghostbusters in the Ecto-2k.
Ghostbusters Fans is giving you the chance to ride along with the Ecto-2k in an awesome online event. Starting on Monday you will be able to follow the Ecto-2k as it drives from Colorado to New York to Atlanta and back.
Update: The car’s engine seized in Ohio and the car is down. The road trip has been cancelled and unfortunately will not make it to PKE Surge in Atlanta. The car now needs to be shipped back, and passengers flown home. We are seeking donations to help pay for it, help out if you can. Donation link here.
